2024 Prep & Launch
April 21st and all the planning for the 2024 season is done and the boat launch prep is underway! A handful of KRD ladies showed up to get the Puff turned over from her winter hibernation. Within days the 46’ Puff is rolling through Nelson and backed into the West Arm of Kootenay Lake at Lakeside Park boat launch. Under Dorothy’s guiding eye (and hands on assistance) she glides effortlessly into the water. It’s a blustery May day and the KRD ladies are not deterred. They climb down the dock and hop into the boat in an organized pre-determined manner under the direction of Coach Cath. Within minutes they are paddling Puff to her temporary summer anchorage where she will patiently wait for the installation of her new, permanent dock at the Municipal peer.
